Is This Salsa Healthy, Or Unhealthy?
Dear Friend,
It’s salsa, so you might be thinking, sure it’s healthy. Isn’t it?
Have you noticed that “natural flavoring”s are in many “health foods”?
I get bloated and all other sorts of symptoms like mood swings, impatience, negativity, stiffness & pain, etc, when I eat “natural flavors” in foods. That’s why I advise my life coaching clients to keep a food journal and warn them about ingredients like these (and seed oils, sugars, preservatives, pesticides, antibiotics, hormones, etc) that can be sabotaging their attempts to be healthy.
Being bloated is a sign of gastrointestinal distress. Guess what, that’s related to triggering anxiety. You probably know, once your anxiety is triggered you’re off to the foggy brain, irritability, worry, judgment, anger races.
Here’s what Google says about natural flavors…
“A single “natural flavor” can contain a wide range of ingredients, potentially over 100, including solvents, emulsifiers, and preservatives, in addition to the natural flavoring component.”
And by the way, did you notice there’s potato starch in this salsa. Potato starch? In salsa? More head scratching.
Come on companies, you can do better for us, and for our children.
If you don’t look and feel the way you want, it’s not your fault. It’s almost always something we are eating. Look at every single thing you put into your mouth and I’m sure you’ll be surprised. 🙂
P.S. The second salsa picture appears to be healthier. But honestly, we really don’t know what companies are putting in our food. That’s why I shoot so many food reels (see below), encouraging you to cook more for yourself and those you love.
